Finnish animals like the arctic fox,
gray seal, brown bear,
snowy owl, wolverine, and European otter adapt well to
this cold climate.
Reindeer are the most famous animals native to this
country. In Finland there are six large mammal
predators: brown bear,
wolf, lynx, wolverine, grey seal and ringed seal living in
the sea. The
interaction between predators and human activities is the
main reason for the
so-called predator hate. Native woodland animals include bear,
elk, wolf, wolverine,
lynx, and Finnish elk. Wild reindeer have almost
disappeared; those remaining
in the north are domesticated. Brown bear (Ursus arctos)
